Sonakshi Sinha looked alluring in a red carpet take on the traditional wedding attire lehenga choli at the Airtel Superstar Awards at Yash Raj Studios late evening on November 15.
Sonakshi's attire, from Anita Dongre's Timeless Collection 2011, comprised an embellished print skirt (Lehenga) in shades of red tied low on the waist, coupled with a short heavily embroidered v-necked blouse in black, with an attached sheer sheath that revealed a toned midriff.
The Lehenga, made out of mashru silk with ajrakh print from Bhuj, is vegetable dyed, hence eco-friendly. It is embellished with traditional badla work and a thick sequined border in black at the bottom.
The net, long, flowy, see through top was embellished with sequins and beads, hand crafted embroidery on the bodice, and sleeves. It is designed to be paired with Lehengas for a traditional look or with wide legged or pencil pants for a fusion look.
Stressing the ethnic outfit, Sonakshi kept accessories to a minimum, opting for a single ring and chandelier earrings with matching stones and pearl drop.
Her long and lustrous hair was styled in chic voluminous curls.
Sonakshi wore heavy make up for the occasion. Her doe eyes were perfectly defined with black liner and a silver grey eye shadow for a dreamy affect. Her luxuriant skin shone with a hint of coral blush, while soft nude pink lips complimented her cheerful smile.
Sonakshi makes interesting style statements and this one was a 'sheer' delight, a fresh new red carpet worthy take on traditional wedding attire. Way to go!
Sonakshi, who is the daughter of actor turned politician Shatrughan Sinha, recently told the press, "Being a star kid does bring pressure as comparisons are inevitable. But there's also advantage as you are sort of bred to be a part of the industry since childhood."
So does a sense of style also come from the breeding?
