Commenting at the event on his inspiration for the film Director Atul Kale said: “Cinema has always fascinated me. Even as a child, I was always attracted to the brightness and simplicity of it. This has also been reflected in my undying admiration for two greats – Charlie Chaplin and Hrishikesh Mukharjee who managed to present a very different uncomplicated yet meaningful world through the simplicity of their cinema.
“Teecha Baap Tyacha Baap is a simple but entertaining attempt by us to shed light on this subject. It is my tribute to my inspiration and guide Hrishida. His films are eternal and have always managed to bring a smile on many a faces. I hope mine does too!!” added Kale
Teecha Baap Tyacha Baap is essentially a story about two families coming together overcoming several obstacles, differences, challenges all along the way and the comic sequences that arises from them. It is about the intriguing relationship of the very strict and disciplined Mr. Vikrant Deshmukh contrasted with the ever fun loving Shashi Phaterphekar. The simplicity fraught with numerous confusions arising out of cultural difference, amongst others, that makes this movie a complete family entertainer and would definitely tickle your funny bone, keeping you coming back for more.
Commenting on the music of Teecha Baap Tycha Baap, music director duo of Ajit-Sameer said: “The entire movie gains its strength from the beautiful portrayal of the various human emotions, varied perspectives and different relationships that exit between the characters in it. Drawing from this we have tried to optimally capture these various emotions and perspectives through the music while also breaking completely new ground in Marathi cinema not just through the compositions but also through fresh sound. For eg. where we have a new, very today, fusion version of a very old popular Marathi number ‘Ga Sajne’ complete with an English R&B touch, we also have tried to bring in a very Sufi feel to another song which is aimed at bringing out the very strong emotion in that situation. To us this is one of our most complete albums till date and we are confident that listeners will enjoy listening the album as much as we have enjoyed composing it.”
The Teecha Baap Tycha Baap music album contains five tracks in all, vastly ranging from R&B based fusion, to a soulful Sufi based melody to contemporary pop numbers. The album also features a healthy mix of new age lyricist and industry veterans including Guru Thakur, Vidyadhar Bhave, Vaibhav Joshi, Mandar Cholkar. While Sachin himself has heralded the vocals for his introductory song in the film – a traditional yet peppy Konkani number titled ‘Yo Yo Ga Majhe Bai’, Atul Kale has sung the very soulful Sufi based ‘Duniya Mohmaya’. The movie also has two very upbeat pop numbers in the form of ‘Golmal Hai’sung by acclaimed and popular vocalist Avdhoot Gupte and ‘Haat De Jawal Ghe’ sung by Ajit Parab and Vidyadhar Bhave. Last but not the least is a soft contemporary number ‘Hi Nasha’ that has been sung by the ever melodious Suzan Demello, who had also lent her voice to Oscar winning Slumdog Millionaire, and the highly popular Swapnil Bandodkar.
Speaking at the occasion, along with the other Associate Producers of the film Nikhil D’Rozario and Vivek Rangachari, Om Raut said: “Teecha Baap Tyacha Baap is a collaborative effort in the true sense of the word and all of us at DAR are extremely happy with the movie. It is a story that all of us can identify with and can actually be the story of any of our houses. The entire TBTB team in reality is a bunch of fun loving good friends who have came together to make some real entertaining yet meaningful cinema. This has also translated into the film and reflects in its simplicity and fun filled yet clean meaningful comedy. This definitely is by far one of the best films we have worked on and all of us are looking forward to its release in October.”
