Southern Super Stars, led by Telugu mega star Venkatesh and his deputy, Kannada star Sudeep, won the curtain raiser match of the Celebrity Cricket League T20 tournament 2011 against Mumbai Heroes (owned by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan) in the eastern coastal town of Vishakapatnam on Saturday night.
Hindi film celebrities and leading actors of Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil film industries attended the star-studded match. Adarsh won the `Man of the Match` award for his all-round performance.

While Salman Khan and Genelia D`Souza cheered for the Mumbai Heroes, southern stars Shriya Saran, Priyamani, Richa Gangopadhyaya, Tapsee, Pooja Gandhi, Sonia Agarwal and Sanjjana rooted for their team.

Rajya Sabha member, T Subbarami Reddy and superstar Mohan Babu handed over the trophy to Venkatesh and his team.

While Venkatesh, Sudeep, Shivarajkumar, Vishnu Manchu, Siddarth, Tarun, Abbas, Tarakaratna, Vikrant, Dhruva Sharma, Shantanu Bhagyaraj represented Southern Super Stars, Riteish Deshumkh (captain), Sohail Khan, Sonu Sood, Mahesh Manjrekar, Harman Baweja, Aftab Shivdasani, Kabir Sadanand, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Angad Bedi, Apoorva Lakhia, Ashish Chowdhry, and Vikas Kalantri played for Mumbai Heroes.

From IBNLive: Rich tributes were paid to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N.T. Rama Rao Saturday on his 88th birth anniversary.

NTR's family members, TDP leaders and prominent personalities from different walks of life paid tributes at NTR Ghat on the banks of Hussain Sagar Lake here.

His services to the people were also remembered during Mahanadu or the state-level conclave of TDP which began here on Friday.

Led by TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, the party paid glowing tributes to the founder.

NTR's sons Harikrishna, Balakrishna, Ramakrishna, grandson Junior NTR, son-in-law N. Chandrababu Naidu, daughter Bhuwaneswari and other family members paid floral tributes at NTR Ghat.

NTR's second wife Lakshmi Parvathi paid separate tributes at NTR Ghat.

Addressing Mahanadu, Naidu demanded that the centre confer the Bharat Ratna on NTR in recognition of his services to the people.

NTR, a popular Telugu actor, had launched TDP in 1982 and created a record of sorts by coming to power within nine months, ending the single party rule of the Congress.

NTR died in January 1996, a few months after he was unseated from power by his son-in-law Chandrababu Naidu.

Bollywood's most flamboyant and loved actor Salman Khan, made a power packed entry on the sets of SAB TV's 'Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah'.The news of Salman Khan visiting Gokuldham society members spread like a wildfire. The entire society waited with a baited breath to meet the Superstar 'Salman Khan'.

Upon witnessing the dhamakedaar entry, the entire society was filled with an excited buzz.Dayaben aka Disha Wakani was too stunned for words at his arrival and could not resist first doing an 'aarti' the Daya way and then showing him her signature 'garba'. Salman being a true sport accompanied her and delighted the society members with his impromptu performances.

Tapu Sena and the others insisted on Salman teaching the entire society members some dance moves from his upcoming movie. Salman readily taught them some moves and dedicated a song to his favorite, Daya ben!

Salman Khan couldn't stop expressing his love for the show. Sallu bhai is a big fan of the show and follows the show whenever he can. He loves how the society lives together and supports each other even during rough times. It came in as a surprise when Salman said, he adores the unique dialogue delivery skills of Daya ben. Daya ben immediately started rattling a few dialogues. What then followed was fun and non-stop dose of entertainment.

Creating all the excitement, Salman Khan said, "I was very pleased to be a part of this show today. I have worked with Dilip Joshi since my 'Maine pyaar kiya' days and it was great meeting him again here today. I especially came to meet Daya bhabhi and I was all ready for all the fun on the sets."

Needless to say, all the society members got a real treat with this little surprise visit and could not stop chattering about his visit until much afterwards.

Said an elated Disha Wakani aka Disha Wakani, "It was such a surprise to see him. Had I known he was coming, I would have made some of my delicious Aam rus - Puri for him. I'm sure he would have loved it. He even gave my Tapu a cricket kit. I am so happy; my Tapu also got what he had always dreamed of."

Dilip Joshi aka Jethalal was still in disbelief and said, "One always dreams of meeting their idols and stars. Who would expect a Star like Salman would walk into your very own housing society, that too to surprise you. It was truly a remarkable experience which I will not forget in a hurry."

Karthi's @ St Litttle Drops Orphanage for his Birthday Celebration

In accordance with his birthday, actor Karthi donated funds and distributed eatables for the elderly people in Little drops orphanage. Apart from this he also visited Government observation and correction school for children and provided the necessary things for the school students. Yesterday morning, Actor Karthi visited Little Drops orphanage and distributed eatables to more than 400 orphan elders. He also gave a cheque for Rs.50, 000 to the orphanage elders for their bed, furniture and other basic amenities. In the afternoon, he visited the Government observation and correction school for children and met around 300 kids.

He provided food for them and spent his time talking to the children. He also distributed tables, chairs, buckets and other necessary things for the students. Children were very excited meeting him. He asked them about their other requirements and also promised to help them with the necessary things. On behalf of Actor Karthi's fan club, in Chennai and all other districts of Tamil Nadu, food donation camps; eye donation camps; blood donation camps; planting of trees; distribution of note books and other activities took place.

Well, the vibrant fashionistas can now look forward to the Kochi International Fashion Week that will take off from July 7 to 10.

Fuelled by the success of Chennai International Week, Storm Fashion Company is gearing up to tap the aspiring designers and models of Kerala.

“Delhi and Mumbai have Wills and Lakme India Fashion Weeks which are a huge hit. Kochi has a lot to offer in terms of fashion and we hope to explore the same,” said Gaurav Sharma of Storm Fashion Company.

The official ambassador for the event is actor Mamta Mohandas. The event will kick off with a charity show by designer Sanjana John. Renowned Bahrain-based designer Priya Kataria Puri will celebrate the spirit of Kerala by presenting her show in the grand finale.

The fashion week will present 50 models who will scorch the ramp. The show will have 16 designers who will showcase their lines.

While serving as a platform for aspiring models from Kerala, this event also aims to bring the designer closer to the target customer. “We are here to tap the market which has produced many supermodels like Joey Mathews, Tinu Verghese and Sheetal Menon,” said Gaurav, who has tasted success with the international weeks in Ludhiana and Chennai.

“A change in the attitude of Keralites towards fashion is emerging,” said Mamata adding that people should stop assuming that nothing ‘rocking’ would happen here.

The fashion week will have an advisory panel consisting of renowned actor Siddique, designer Hari Anand and Bengaluru-based choreographer Rahul Dev Shetty.

The auditions for the models will be held at the Casiono Hotel on May 27.

The unit of Mr. Perfect revealed at the success meet held at the Arts Gallery, Hyderabad. Made on Sri Venkateswara Creations banner with Dil Raju producing it, Mr. Perfect registered its early lead and remained the winner of the summer vacation.
